Halloween

Just came from Leonie's & Micaela's Halloween-Parteyy - it was fun!
Don't really know what to write about it, i think pictures say more than words. :)

ahh and i had fake-eyelashes for the first time in my life

Soo, today I was on the Halloweenparty of Sam :) it's crazy how big the americans celebrate it. All the houses were decorated and the streets were full of children (and youths) who were trick-or-treating.

better late than never

Okay, I am already here for two months. Why do I now start a blog?
Because I realized how important it is to write down my experiences, my up's and downs.. just my thoughts, so I have a nice memory later. Why don't I just write it in a diary? Because I'm too lazy to spend so much time writing (typing is much faster) and here I can also upload pictures and share my life with my friends back in Germany :)

Short summary of the past two months
After a horrible flight, with spending a night in a hotel, I finally arrived in Salt Lake City. My hostfamily welcomed me and we drove to Evanston in Wyoming, which was supposed to be my new home for the next year. But Things didn't work out there very well (I'm not going to describe it here cause it would just be too much) - so after one wooonderful month on a farm in the desert, I changed my whole life again. That was a big step, cause I finally got used to everything, found friends, got better grades. But it was the best decision I've ever made! I came to Redding in California and now just everything is perfect. My villa is a dream *-* and although it's getting colder here, too, it's still much warmer than in Germany or Wyoming. Up to a few days we always had temperatures between 29 - 43°C ! That is about 84 - 110 Fahrenheit.

yes, the house on the right is the one where I live :]

Everyday life
What I usually do here is going to school from 7.40am - 2.30 pm, then two times a week I'm going with friends to the YMCA, thats a fitnessclub where you can do workouts, play basketball, go swimming in- and outside and so on, my hostmum picks me up and we go eating somewhere, do grocery shopping or something. On Wednesday evening I go to the youth group at Bethel Church, thats really nice there. On the weekends I go to the Footballgames, mostly having a sleepover with some friends and do other stuff like going shopping or to the movie theatre. Yesterday for example Julia,Sophie,Amanda,Leonie,Micaela and me watched SAW6 in 3D in the movie theater. That was verryy scary! Today I'm going to a Halloweenparty, so on Sunday. I'm excited for tonight!

Some information about my High School: I go to Shasta High ( http://www.shastawolves.com/ ) and I'm a Junior, that is the 11th grade. About 1800 students go this school and we have 9 exchange students this year. They come from Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, Denmark and Azerbaijan. Thats very nice to have these people, especially in the beginning. My schedule is: English, US History, Art, Drama, Latin. The subjects I like best are Art and Drama. Latin is the subject I dislike most, cause it doesn't make sense for me to attend this class. Although I was very good in Germany I have no idea how to translate it into English, it's much harder than I thought. But the thing I loove the most is that I don't have Mathematics! That makes life much easier for me ;D

I will come back to you
Much Love, Elina
